Sessional Program
We run a sessional kindergarten program for 3-5 years old students with the aim of preparing them for their first year of formal school. Staying within the encompass of the Reggio Emilia Approach, we gradually work towards readying our kinder students for their transition to school. 'School Readiness' is at the very heart of our kindergarten program which aims to prepare all our students to successfully make the important transition from Kindergarten into Primary Schooling. A smooth transition from Kindergarten to school lays the foundation for future positive learning experiences. Teachers at Greenvue Kinder provide progress reflections and end of year transition statements which are combined with family/teacher interviews. This provides an opportunity for discussion on any concerns regarding the child's development or learning and whether your child will be ready for school or would benefit from a second year of Kindergarten. Our program offers a wide range of experiences which are specifically designed to prepare children for school. The school readiness component focuses on developing the independence, emotional maturity, physical development, social skills and communication skills of children to prepare them for the Primary School environment. Greenvue Kinder defines School Readiness as children needing to be independent and self-reliant as they play, negotiate and problem solve with other children in the playground. They need to be able to look after their own belongings, use the toilet independently, follow multiple instructions, follow through with set tasks, be able to express their emotions appropriate and deal with competition and conflict. The School Readiness component of our kinder program also strongly focuses on building resilience in children which enables them to cope with whatever they may face in both their educational and social lives.

Modern Curriculum
Crucial to childrens learning within the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is viewing children as active participants and decision makers and as a result the educators at our kinder place this at the core of all curriculum delivery. Our modern preschool syllabus is inspired by the experiences that result from the partnership of our educators, children and the families, and together in pursuit of continual review of the EYLF implementation, we are always trying to evolve newer methodologies to extend and enrich children's experiences through play-based learning activities in both the indoor and outdoor environments by utilising both modern digital as well as traditional technologies. Appropriate resources are essential in creating a stimulating learning environment that allows children to discover who they are, a place that they feel that they belong, be culturally aware, to be motivated to engage with those around them, and to extend their learning by seeking new challenges. Children need opportunities to test how things work, to practice and revisit activities over and over again and to limitless exploration. Our educators understand that this means resources like never before need to be safe, unbiased and offer flexibility of use for all our students. To allow every child the freedom to explore, we ensure that the resources and environment available to them is appropriately designed to cater for their educational needs.
